You must adhere strictly to German laws and provisions.
You are obliged to submit your asylum application in person at a branch office of the Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge (Federal Office for Migration and Refugees). You must also attend the hearing in person. Please appear for your appointment on time.
Duty to cooperate
You must provide truthful information regarding your identity when your application is checked. This includes presenting all the official documentation in your possession. It is also important that you inform the Federal Office and the responsible Ausländerbehörde (immigration authority) on time when you change addresses. This is to ensure that you can always be contacted. It is very important that you comply with this obligation to cooperate. Non-compliance may have a negative effect on the decision of the Federal Office. Please inform the Federal Office of all fundamental changes, such as pregnancy or serious illness.
The residence permit
Your residence permit allows you to reside in a restricted area of the Federal Republic of Germany. This area is specified in your residence permit. You must carry your residence permit with you at all times. If you would like to leave the area temporarily, you will need the permission of the Ausländerbehörde (immigration authority) or the Federal Office if you are still living in a reception centre.
You can usually move freely within Germany after a period of three months without previously obtaining official permission from the authorities.
