Tip: Migrationsberatung (migration advice service)

Migration adviser advising a refugee

Migration counselling (Migrationsberatung, MBE) helps people aged 28 and over to find their way in Germany. The MBE counselling service is generally available to immigrants up to three years after entering Germany or up to three years after obtaining their first residence permit. They receive information on topics such as learning German, school and work, authorities, housing, health, marriage, family and parenting.

The advisers can usually also understand the language of your home country. You can speak to them about your problems and look for solutions together.

You can find a counselling centre near you here. Further information on the MBE is available on the website www.migrationsberatung.org.

You can also contact the MBE online: Mbeon offers quick and individual online counselling via chat. Adult immigrants receive free and confidential counselling and support to help them shape their lives in their new home country in a self-determined way. Counselling is offered in German, English, Arabic and Russian. The counsellors in the chats also speak many other languages such as French, Spanish and Italian. Further information is available at www.mbeon.de.
