In the initial orientation course, you receive important information about everyday life in Germany. You also learn some basic German language skills so that you can find your way around. A course consists of a total of 300 lessons (one lesson = 45 minutes).
Participation in the course is voluntary and free of charge. The initial orientation courses are primarily intended for people seeking protection. If there are places available, other people can also take part, e.g. persons entitled to protection or EU immigrants. The initial orientation course is aimed exclusively at people who do not have the opportunity to attend an integration course or for whom an integration course is not (yet) a suitable option.
As part of the course, you also visit places such as a local authority, library or the weekly market. Here you can directly apply and try out the knowledge learned in the course.
