In the integration course, you will learn the German language and find out lots of interesting facts about Germany. The course usually consists of a total of 700 teaching units (one teaching unit = 45 minutes). Specialised integration courses can be up to 1,000 teaching units long. People with good learning skills can also complete the integration course as an intensive course with 500 teaching units.
If you speak little or no German, you can be admitted to an integration course by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees upon application. In addition, you may also be required to attend an integration course by the providers of benefits under the Asylum Seekers' Benefits Act, the job centre or the immigration authorities.
More information on the integration course is available in various languages in the flyer ‘Integration Courses’.
