Smoking is strictly forbidden in many parts of Germany. Smoking is not permitted in public buildings such as government agencies and departments, cinemas, theatres, universities and hospitals, and also in airports and railway stations. The same applies in bars, cafés, restaurants and discos: smoking is strictly forbidden, so please do not light any cigarettes.

Observe the rules for smoking areas

This is also the case in most offices. Some companies have set up special smoking rooms for their staff who smoke. Such separate smoking areas can also be found at railway stations and airports. Smokers who go to a bar with friends in the evening must go outside to smoke. Cigarette butts should only be disposed of in the ashtray and not on the street.
