Smoking is strictly forbidden in many parts of Germany. Smoking is not permitted in public buildings such as government agencies and departments, cinemas, theatres, universities and hospitals, and also in airports and railway stations. The same applies in bars, cafés, restaurants and discos: smoking is strictly forbidden, so please do not light any cigarettes.
Observe the rules for smoking areas
This is also the case in most offices. Some companies have set up special smoking rooms for employees who smoke. These segregated smoking areas can also be found in railway stations and airports. If you go to a bar with friends and want to smoke, you must go outside to do so. You should dispose of cigarette ends in ashtrays and not throw them on the ground.
